Please keep asking and we will keep answering. Thank you for reading below:

What's the difference between your unquilted zipper covers?

Both our SleepLikeABear Pure 100% Organic Knit Cotton Zipper Cover and SleepLikeABear All-Natural Knit Bamboo and Cotton Zipper Cover are sewn in the USA with the same high-quality standards using American made fabrics. The primary difference lies in the fabric composition: one is made entirely of GOTS-certified organic cotton fibers, while the other is a blend of approximately 40% bamboo viscose and 60% cotton fibers.
In terms of feel, the cotton cover has a denser texture, while the bamboo blend feels silkier. Both materials are luxuriously soft and breathable, but they perform slightly differently in various climates. The 100% cotton is more absorbent, which can be beneficial in drier climates. In contrast, the bamboo/cotton blend is preferred in more humid conditions or by those who sweat more, as it tends to stay cooler and less clammy. Neither fabric adds extra heat to the body, unlike some synthetic materials.

Will your unquilted zippered encasements firm up the mattress by any significant amount?

Our covers are designed to add minimal firmness to your mattress. They are made from soft, medium to heavy-weight fabrics (310 GSM and 285 GSM) that provide durability without significantly altering the feel of the mattress components. When installed, the zip covers serve as an additional comfort layer, thanks to their soft knit fabrics and knife-edge, waterfall construction, which allows for natural stretch and movement with your body.
While all encasements will somewhat restrict the movement of mattress components, ours are not quilted or reinforced with extra batting. This design choice minimizes any added firmness and allows for you to experience the natural feel of your bare mattress. The snug fit and stretch of our zip covers ensure they move with your body, enhancing comfort without significantly altering firmness.

Why are your zipper covers not washable?

The natural fabrics that we employ in our zipper covers are cotton rich and not preshrunk. This means that there is a great chance that they will shrink in size after washing. Even though hand washing allows you to manage the water temperature and everything else and thereby possibly reduce the amount of shrinkage if you wash it by hand with mild detergent and no bleach and hang it to dry, shrinkage will still occur and there is no exact calculation of how much and how it can change the fit of the sewn product.
Preshrinking fabrics requires specialized washing/drying equipment. It is industry standard to employ chemicals to preshrink fabrics during production, and the process involves applying resins to the fabric, heating it to cure the chemicals, and then washing the fabric to remove most of any remaining chemicals. Finishing treatments may also be needed after that.
Fabrics used for mattresses are generally not preshrunk as washing the entire mattress ticking is not necessary, let alone impossible if they are attached and not removable. Spot cleaning is common and recommended. With our zipper covers,  you have the option to remove the entire cover (or the top or bottom only) if you need to wash a small area under running water.

Are the dyes used in your fabrics safe?

Yes. Our organic cotton fabric yarns are dyed using a dye process that meets the criteria of the GOTS certification. On the other hand, a standard yarn dye process is utilized for our cotton-bamboo fabric yarns. Both dye processes meet or exceed the standards set by the Oeko-Tex® 100, Class 1 certification, which guarantees that our fabrics have safe levels of dyes and are safe to use for baby articles.

Are your fabrics safe for human use?

Yes. For our zipper covers we only use fabrics that are certified to be free from harmful levels of toxic substances. Our fabrics have been tested and they meet or exceed the human-ecological requirements of the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, Product class I certification. Our fabrics are guaranteed to be safe to use even for baby articles.

What is Oeko-Tex® Standard 100?

"Oeko-Tex® Standard 100" is a global certification testing system that ensures textiles are safe for consumers while supporting sustainable production practices. It sets the standard for textile safety from raw materials to finished textile, and tests for banned azo dyes, nickel, and lead, among others. While GOTS certifies the organic production of raw materials like cotton, Oeko-Tex® 100 certifies both raw components used and finished product do not contain harmful levels of toxic substances. Oeko-Tex® 100 promotes transparency and prevents deceptive claims about the environmental impact of products. Oeko-Tex® 100 Product Class 1 is a safety standard established for babies and children up to age three.

What is GOTS?

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. It is a globally recognized testing standard that applies to the entire process of making a textile, from harvesting the raw materials to labeling. The GOTS certification ensures transparency so that consumers can confidently choose organic products.

The organic cotton fabrics that we use are milled from organic cotton yarns. The The cotton yarns are GOTS certified organic, and the GOTS certification ensures that they are produced from cotton plants that are grown without pesticides or chemicals that can harm the soil and pollinators and the entire process that turn them into yarns meet the criteria established by GOTS.

GOTS ensures that the product it certifies is not harmful to our health and at the same time the environmental impact of producing it is minimized. The GOTS certification also extends to ensuring that workers are paid and treated fairly. GOTS certified manufacturers must meet the International Labour Organisation's (ILO) social compliance norms.

Why don't you accept returns?

We believe that it is in the best interest of our customers that we do not accept returns on mattress covers.

We believe that mattress covers are a very personal item. Most people would not want to crawl into a stranger's bed. In order to assure you that you will not be getting someone else's used mattress cover, we say "No" to returns, unless the product remained in its original sealed packaging and never got taken out.

Of course, if your mattress is found to be defective, we will either repair or replace it free of charge, We do guarantee that when you buy from us, you get a brand-new cover that is free of defects, and we do stand by the quality of our mattress covers one-hundred percent and will do our best to make our customer happy with their purchase.

Note that because product returns cost any companies a lot considering not only the product cost but also shipping costs, among others, some shady companies out there may be willing to resell a returned used cover to someone else to offset some loss. By not accepting returns, we are able to avoid expensive returns and maintain the highest quality for our products and service while keeping our prices as low as possible for the topnotch American made products that we offer.
